Mainland official meets tourism industry delegation from Taiwan
BEIJING -- A senior Chinese mainland official in charge of Taiwan affairs on Tuesday called for continued efforts to deepen cross-Straits cooperation and communication to benefit the people in Taiwan.
Meeting a delegation of Taiwan's tourism industry in Beijing, Liu Jieyi, head of the Taiwan Work Office of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, said the future of Taiwan and Taiwan compatriots hinges on a sound cross-Straits relationship.
Liu hoped that people from all walks of life in Taiwan would jointly work to propel cross-Straits relations back on the right track.
Delegates from Taiwan said they hope cross-Straits cooperation and communication will enjoy healthy and orderly development, and they will endeavor to help achieve the peaceful development of cross-Straits relations.
