Shen Xue, a former Olympic figure skating champion, is already a household name in China. In recent years she's still been active in the sport as president of the China Figure Skating Association. The association and Shen are now hard at work in preparation for the upcoming Olympics.

She told China Daily she hopes to raise the sport's profile at a live special marking the 30-day countdown to the Beijing Games on Wednesday.
